AccommodationAt the Raintree Lodge we selected a bure that had a double bed and also spare bed for a child. We booked it by telephoning from the USA directly before our departure. The bure had electricity and a mosquito net over the bed. It was very comfortable and had a good shower and hot water. Being next to a nature reserve there were many twittering birds, including lorikeets. The restaurant was good and I ate fresh water mussels - of which there were many. One could also play billiards in the bar - but we had to go to bed early for our early start the next day. The guard woke us up at 3:30 am to get a taxi at 4:30 am for the 5:30 am flight to Vanua Balavu. We were able to make coffee and tea in our room before leaving. Raintree Lodge is convenient for the airport as the town of Suva is further away.
