Steve will show us how non-print media must be used to
reach both the post-literate in the developed world and the illiterate in the
developing world. Post-literacy is an issue that the Church must respond to so
as to be perceived as relevant. The emergence of the Internet as an outreach
tool has its challenges which will be addressed in this presentation.
Steve will tell us about some of the leading indicators
regarding spirituality on the Internet. In addition, he'll be talking about
practical ways that a person can use the Internet and other electronic
technology to make God's Word more available to friends, family, business
associates. Finally, he'll identify some of the existing resources that people
can use for effective outreach using non-traditional methods.
Steve has been involved in both personal and professional
ministry most of his adult life. Prior to joining IBS, he served more than 10
years with Compassion International. Steve joined IBS in August of 1996 as the
Director of Communications. He was later promoted to Vice President of
Communications and Development and also served as Vice President of Ministry
Outreach. Steve’s nurturing leadership style has integrated a key ministry
component of IBS and positioned it for increased Kingdom effectiveness. He and
his wife Christine have four sons and reside in Colorado Springs.
